Minneapolis just finished hosting the Super Bowl, but the city is now gearing up for another major sporting event. Next April, the men's NCAA college basketball Final Four is at U.S. Bank Stadium. This week, the host committee returned home from Texas, where the 2018 Final Four took place in San Antonio.

Kate Mortenson, president and CEO of the 2019 Minneapolis Final Four Local Organizing Committee, has made supplier diversity and diverse hiring priorities as she leads planning efforts for when the NCAA men's college basketball event arrives at U.S. Bank Stadium.

That was the message Mortenson delivered to a room full of minority- owned business owners, corporate executives and other members of the business community as the keynote speaker at the North Central Minority Supplier Development Council annual meeting and luncheon in Golden Valley on Thursday.
